A graduate of Foreign Language High School “Exarch Yosif I” in the city of Lovech. She continued her education at the Faculty of Law of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, majoring in Law.
A lawyer and member of the Sofia Bar Association since 2017. Prior to that, she briefly worked as a legal counsel in the state administration.
The greater part of her professional career has been dedicated to the protection of intellectual property (IP) rights. She has worked as a lawyer at “Musicautor” — an organization for the collective management of music copyright. As part of a law firm team, she worked in the fields of commercial law, labor relations, personal data protection, and intellectual property, after which she focused her independent practice entirely on IP.
One of the first external experts for the “IP Pre-Diagnosis” service (also known as IP Scan) at the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria under the EU Fund for supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in the protection of intellectual property rights.
Member of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian National Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) since April 2024.
Adv. Lalova has a distinct interest in the legal protection of brands and serves Bulgarian and foreign clients in connection with trademark protection, IP rights monitoring, negotiation and conclusion of licensing agreements, co-branding agreements, trademark coexistence agreements, and more. She represents trademark owners and applicants in opposition and other IP-related proceedings, including before customs authorities in cases of reasonable suspicion of trademark infringement, and participates in building and developing comprehensive brand strategies in a legal context.
It is precisely to draw public attention to the issue of IP protection that she founded the law firm IP in the spotlight. By actively managing social media profiles, she shares business-relevant information and “translates” the law into accessible language. The mission of IP in the spotlight is to put intellectual property under the spotlight!
Deyan Hristov is a second-year student of International Law at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. He is the co-founder of the youth non-formal education initiative “Youth Voice Forum.” Alongside his academic pursuits, Deyan actively participates in numerous law and debate competitions.
He organized the first inter-high school moot court competition in Bulgaria, with the aim of fostering Bulgarian students’ interest in the legal field. Driven by his strong interest in intellectual property protection, he joined the team as a Legal Assistant, contributing his academic knowledge and practical experience to the development of the initiative.
